Every club has a beginning. Ours started with friendship, a shared love of netball and a simple idea — to create a club where people feel welcome, supported and proud to belong.
Where It All
Began
Emeralds Netball Club began with a group of friends, a shared love of netball and the Masters Games right here in our hometown.
What started as a chance to take the court together soon became the beginning of something bigger. We chose our name, created our first Emeralds dress and began imagining what our own netball club could become.
The Founding of Emeralds
Emeralds was brought to life by our six founding members — Ema, Nicole, Julie, Shannon, Hannah and Anneleise — brought together by friendship, a love of netball and a shared vision for creating something of their own.
Together, they took Emeralds from an idea sparked at the Masters Games to a club with its own identity, values and community.
From the very beginning, Emeralds was always going to be about more than just netball — a place where people could play, grow, connect and belong.

From our very first whistle to our first finals campaign, 2026 was the year Emeralds came to life — and what a year it was.
Our inaugural season has been one to remember! From taking the court for the very first time to building a strong and supportive club community, 2026 has given Emeralds plenty to celebrate.
We welcomed players across NetSetGO, junior and senior teams, saw all three of our senior teams progress to finals, supported the development of junior umpires and helped deliver the LDNA NetSet program.
Off the court, 2026 was just as memorable. From kicking up our heels at Boot & Scoot, putting our knowledge to the test at Trivia Night, to celebrating the season with Fitness Kidz at our Presentation Night, there were plenty of opportunities to come together, have a laugh and enjoy being part of Emeralds.
These moments helped turn teammates into friends, brought families and supporters together and created the sense of community and belonging we wanted Emeralds to be known for from the very beginning.
We also built some fantastic partnerships with local businesses, supported association initiatives and continued to create a club culture centred around participation, friendship, sportsmanship, development and belonging.
For our very first year, we couldn’t be prouder of what the Emeralds community has achieved — and we’re only getting started. 💚

Purpose
After an incredible first season, our vision for 2027 is to continue building Emeralds sustainably while staying true to the club we set out to create. We want to grow at a pace that allows us to maintain the welcoming, supportive and community-focused environment that makes Emeralds special.
Our focus isn’t on being the biggest club — it’s about growing sustainably and building something strong for the future.

Gradually welcome new players, strengthen our existing teams and create opportunities for new teams as Emeralds continues to grow.
Continue supporting and investing in our players, coaches and umpires, creating opportunities for development at every level.
Strengthen local partnerships, bring our Emeralds community together and continue building a welcoming club that people are proud to be part of.
